Back-to-School Giveaway to Empower Learning On the Go!
This blog post is written as a Back-to-School Giveaway in Partnership with Rug-Ed iPad Cases
In the past, I have shared my love for Rug-Ed iPad cases. There are many reasons why they positively contribute to the way I facilitate learning, and because it’s back-to-school time, I am excited to announce that I’m doing a giveaway so you have an opportunity to win one! Additionally, I’m pairing it with a copy of my book, Take the L.E.A.P.: Ignite a Culture of Innovation. My hope is that you can utilize my book for ideas and then use the case to empower learners to be on the go as they explore and demonstrate their learning using an iPad. I don’t typically share about specific products, but I love Rug-Ed iPad cases as they compliment my teaching style.
Technology Use On the Go, No Need to Hold Learners Back
There are times in which learners will sit and use technology, whether it’s typing, creating and editing videos, or annotating texts using apps such as Flipgrid, Book Creator, Seesaw and more. But, we also want to encourage learners to pick up their device and take it with them to capture and curate learning as they explore (again, using the apps and websites shared above or others in combination). Alongside our learners, we can do everything from taking nature walks outside to taking our technology on field trips to snap pictures, record brief videos, and make connections to content within the curriculum! However, technology is pricey. I remember when our grade level received iPads and worrying about them being accidentally dropped or breaking in one way or another. We were so grateful to have them that I wanted to ensure nothing went wrong. Fortunately, I learned about Rug-Ed iPad cases at ISTE17 in San Antonio and was sold!
I’m a teacher who is always moving and I know my learners are very similar. I never wanted them to feel “stuck” to a location due to a device. With Rug-Ed, I’m able to let learners take their learning on the go with no worries! Technology should never hold kids back, rather it ought to accelerate their learning. Due to the design, I am confident that learners can take their learning anywhere they (or you) can imagine. Our students benefit from feeling empowered with no constraints on where they go to capture, demonstrate, or curate their learning.
Take the L.E.A.P.: Ignite a Culture of Innovation
I’m pairing my book with this giveaway because within, I detail how we can cultivate future success skills and create meaningful and authentic learning opportunities. Take the L.E.A.P.: Ignite a Culture of Innovation is intended to inspire you to take steps that will support your growth beyond a traditional education system. Let’s start now to plant seeds of innovation with authentic learning experiences so our students will be equipped with future ready skills.
Our schools ought to be places where students explore, inquire, and unleash creative thinking within a supportive, collaborative environment. Too often, however, they feel more like factories that demand compliance and uniformity—a reality that stifles innovation and leaves students ill-equipped for their futures. The good news is that together, we can help change that as we reimagine learning by sparking curiosity, inspiring creativity, and promoting student agency. Let’s challenge conventional thinking and create the conditions that empower meaningful learning. We can create the #LEAPeffect in our schools by using the acronym as a guiding light.
L.uminous Culture—Shine a light on every individual’s creative potential.
E.mpowered Learning—Encourage students to take ownership of their education.
A.uthenticity in Learning—Tap into passions to create relevant learning experiences.
P.otential Soars—Ignite a movement of inspired, confident learners.
There’s also a FREE discussion guide to compliment the book and activities shared on DBC, Inc. website!
Together, Let’s Transform Learning Experiences
I am driven to transform learning experiences, and that means considering what tools I’m utilizing as well. I’ve been able to send learners on the playground with iPads to create skits to compliment our project based learning and as they create newscasts all around the school grounds. We’ve brought them on field trips, used them for coding robotics in our makerspace, and never once do I have to hesitate and consider if the iPad is safe due to my trust in Rug-Ed. I’ve got to tell you, one of my favorite features include the stand and handle, both help even our youngest learners to manipulate the iPad to function the way they need for their work.
Cases include key features such as:
- Locks in the device, clear back for asset tags, superior drop protection.
- Optional device repair coverage.
- One case fits most (from iPad Air on). Most schools purchase more iPads every year, which means they potentially have different model iPads.
ProLOCK series features a variety of cases compatible with iPads Air, Air 2, Pro 9.7, 2017 iPad 9.7, 2018 iPad (6th Gen), and iPad Mini 4
Fortunately, with Rug-Ed, their ProLOCK cases meet all of our needs pertaining to ease of use, protection, and options for device repair coverage. After all, Rug-Ed cases are designed for education deployments. This makes them the ideal product to ensure our students can engage in active learning as future-ready students.
